Testimonials from a few of my birthing mothers:

Below is a selection of the many complimentary comments and notes I have received from women whom I have helped and guided through their birthing techniques:

Sarah,

L and I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your teaching and for help making L such a strong little fellow.

Ante natal yoga helped me have the birth I wanted and baby yoga, I'm sure accounts for how comparitively advanced L is to babies the same age.

We do yoga every day using the book as a guide and as L moves on to more acrobatic moves he is enjoying it more and more.  He can already roll over and can balance himself sitting up  for a sustained period with no help, which is pretty good for 16 weeks I think!  He sleeps well, has never suffered from griping pain or wind and is very calm ( as long as you hold him right) he hates to be laid down.  The only disadvantage is he's very busy all the time, the chores around the house take a back seat (HOORAY!)

Once again thank you for everything.

Big love,

D and L ( and W who also is a fan of yoga)

"I just wanted to email to say thank you for being such an inspirational yoga teacher to me.   So far, I have found no other yoga style with which I feel such a connection, and I wanted to thank you for being the teacher who brought Sivananda to my life"

SW, Kent

"I just wanted to say a big Thank You for our birth rehersal, it really helped to break it down like that and go over all our breathing techniques! You've been an inspiration through all of this, and I'm sure I will be able to tell a positive story when he (baby) finally arrives"

Dear Sarah,

After attending your classes and trying quite a few of your beauty treatments for the past 5 years I thought it would only be right to write you a testimonial to say a big “Thank You”.

I’ve attended your ante-natal yoga for both my pregnancies. Each time I’ve had a relaxing pregnancy and given birth to two very relaxed babies (they were the only one’s that slept at night in the hospital). The breathing exercises that we learnt in class were invaluable during labour and despite having both my babies in hospital, I was able to have the calm, planned births that I wanted, without having too much interference from medical staff. Each time I only had gas & air and the one time I was rushed to theatre, I was still calm and controlled enough to insist that a caesarean wasn’t needed and with my pushing and breathing that we had learnt in class, I would get the baby out without help. And I did. During both pregnancies I came along for ante-natal massages. The massages really helped to relax me but also helped to ease the pain I got from S.P.D (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction). During my second pregnancy my husband and I had a private birthing class with you. It was great to refresh ourselves about the birth and I felt it was helpful for my husband to understand how to help me breathe during labour. First time around he didn’t have a clue but this time he was fantastic. I was in labour at home all week just using the techniques we had learnt and then went to hospital to have G who was born in just under 3 hours. We did consider using you as our Doula but thought as it was second time around we would be okay. I would have loved having you and your calm voice and presence around me in my first labour.

After having both of my children, I came along to your Baby Yoga classes. I first came along with J, who is now four and then along with G. Both of them loved the class. I learnt to massage them both and use yoga techniques on them, while meeting with new friends each week and I went home with flexible, chilled children. I also found that my two have always been ahead of other babies that didn’t do yoga. They were the first to roll-over, sit up and crawl. Despite J being four he still has an interest in yoga and hopefully I will find a class that he can attend soon.

As well as attending pregnancy and baby related classes, I have also attending your adult classes and tried out quite a few of your therapy treatments. I love my evening class. After a hard day it’s nice to do something for myself. I find the yoga keeps me flexible, fit and most importantly relaxed. Your therapies are lovely too and I can’t wait for my next one.

So as you can see I have tried everything that you have on offer. You are the complete package and a great person, who I now consider a friend.

Feel free to show this to people etc. I thought after coming to you for so long and trying most of your services it was only fair to write this letter. If ever you want me to come along and talk to your mums-to-be or show them a little bit of Baby Yoga with G I’m happy to help.

Yours truly,

JB, Mum to J and G

"Having a baby is an exciting and confusing time but I was lucky enough to find Sarah Brooks who offered all the advice and services I needed. The pregnancy yoga kept me supple and helped me relax; it taught me to breath properly which helped enormously throughout my labour.

I attended an ante natal class held by Sarah and a Midwife from Maidstone Hospital and this provided all the information I needed (I also attended a private class, this proved to be unnecessary).

The most important aspect was the kindness and on-going support from Sarah, nothing is too much trouble, this gives you a positive approach for the whole 9 months and beyond. I can also recommend the pregnancy massage which helped to alleviate the strains of pregnancy. Your pregnancy is special and should be enjoyed so I would recommend Sarah to all pregnant women."

"I wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know how helpful I have found your CD, 'The Journey of Birth'.

My mother in law bought it for me and I have used it a number of times over the last few months. I have had trouble sleeping during my pregnancy, as a lot of women do, and often wake in the early hours of the morning and find it hard to get back to sleep. After tossing and turning for a while I tend to reach for your CD (and some headphones so that I don't wake up my husband!) and have found this has really helped. It relaxes me enough so that I am able to drift back off to sleep, and wake a few hours later.

I have just started my maternity leave, and plan to continue using the CD to help me relax and unwind during my last few weeks before the baby arrives, and to prepare for the impending birth."

"Hi Sarah, thank you so much for the fantastic Yoga classes - the breathing techniques we'd been practising were so, so helpful throughout my labour. I actually managed the whole thing with just TENS and breathing. We didn't even get round to opening the gas and air!"

HT (A planned Home Birth)

"...the breathing techniques and positions you taught me were very beneficial and I am so glad that I attended your classes - I was definately better prepared because of them"

LS

"Thank you so much for the classes, I learnt so much and found great comfort at a time when my body was taking me on it's most amazing but somewhat scary journey. I met some lovely girls along the way and will recommend your class to every pregnant woman I meet"

JK

"A big thank you to you Sarah for preparing me for the most amazing 7.5 hours I have ever had...in fact I had no pain relief whatsoever"

SG

"A quote for you Sarah from my maternity notes I think you may like "J used excellent breathing techniques throughout" ...thank you for the Yoga I really enjoyed the classes and will definately return when baby no. 2 comes along!"

JC

"I remembered you saying "not to get stuck in one position". The breathing techniques we practised were my biggest plus. I was able to keep calm and controlled breathing throughout"

LM

"I cannot express how grateful we are to you for all your help. The midwife congratulated J and I on our calmness throughout and praised how we worked together so effectively to bring our baby into the world and thats all thanks to you!"
